Bilingual in Japanese and English, half Japanese half American, Japanese being my first language, I learned to read and write Japanese by attending Japanese school on saturdays from 1st-7th grade in a school in Chula Vista, CA. My mother and my grandmother are both Japanese, I would go to Japan every summer to take classes in Japan from elementary school all the way to high school, to learn about the culture and to learn the language to a native level. From November 2016 to February 2017, I worked at a hotel in a ski resort in Yamagata prefecture as a translator/front desk clerk, which gave me incredible insight into how business culture works in Japan. I am at a fluent, native level of speaking, reading, and writing, as well as understanding the culture as a whole.
