The main role I try to play as a tutor is someone who can help students simplify complex topics. Sometimes all that a student needs is to have someone there to make difficult concepts easier to understand. Math and science are often seen as cold and logical rather than creative, and I strive to reverse this view in many of my students by injecting life and my unique views on the subjects into my tutoring sessions. I use visual aids, interactive learning tools, and other fun elements to reach even the most uninterested students. I am a graduate of South Eugene High School, and then moved on to Hampshire College to pursue Neurosciences. This area of science encompasses a wide range of disciplines such as Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, mathematical models, and studies in Artificial Intelligence. This allows me to tutor a wide range of scientific subjects, such as math, biology, and chemistry at basic to advanced levels. I have had vast amounts of experience tutoring mathematics at Hampshire University, which was an exciting opportunity for me. This experience convinced me to try to continue to tutor. During this time, I also wrote tutorials for students about an advanced piece of software called Moonshadow Mobile. When I'm not at school or tutoring, I enjoy painting, drawing, sewing, and clothing design.
