Experience

I was a full-time Private Academic Instructor/Educational Consultant in Virginia for 13 years prior to moving to Oregon a couple years ago. Currently, I manage a state accredited environmental laboratory and have been missing the time I spent working with students. I have worked with numerous students at various points in their education from preschool to postgraduate admissions. Currently, I am hoping to find a family with at least 2 or more students that will need assistance throughout the entire school year. I work closely with my students to find out what works best for them in subject areas such as Math, Science, Foreign Language and even test prep. I am experienced in working with children, teens, and adults from Kindergarten to College and beyond. I try to instill a firm understanding of the fundamentals each student needs to succeed in their classes now AND in the FUTURE. Over several years, I have obtained an immense working knowledge of students in academic environments. It is of great importance to identify areas of weakness in the student's knowledge of material and study skills to help the student progress smoothly, now and in the future. I'm friendly and love working with kids and adults . I also work with students to help them sort and organize their class material into proper and effective study tools. Every student is different, and finding a method that works best for each individual is extremely important. As a tutor, I can successfully integrate material and utilize a student's preferred learning preferences to help them succeed. Also, I stress the real-world application of concepts for better understanding. I started tutoring while in high school and graduated with an AP Diploma. During high school, I tutored and was available to help in nearly every science and math class, including classes I was enrolled in at the time. As a proficient speaker of the Spanish language I also assist with tutoring students who are taking beginning & intermediate level classes currently (Through high school level Spanish 3 as well as the first two semesters of college Spanish) Thus far, through this site I have tutored over 47 different students through this site and have positive results and numerous returning students.
