Experience
About 10 years math tutoring experience at all levels (college, high school, middle school, elementary), although recently predominantly undergraduate / graduate college tutoring. I've completed both undergraduate and graduate math degrees, and taught undergraduate calculus, precalculus, and statistics courses. While I enjoyed teaching a lot, one of the aspects of tutoring that I'm really excited about is the ability to work 1 on 1 with students. I've found, both as a student and a teacher that, for various reasons, people generally struggle to learn material when it's taught in large classroom environments. However, 1 on 1 or small group tutoring is an excellent opportunity to identify where students struggle with the material, and grow understanding. Mathematics also has this very subtle, beautiful quality, wherein there are many different ways of thinking about it's various concepts and how they reinforce each other at different levels. I find that tutoring is a great vehicle for working with students individually to identify the most appropriate mode for them in order to reinforce their conceptual understanding. I'm also excited to work with students that have a solid grasp of the material but are looking for a deeper level of understanding or to place it in a broader mathematical context.

I'm a friendly person first and foremost, with a deep and long-abiding love for mathematics, physics, computer science, and statistics. Hobbies include coding, particularly in R or Python, and I'm an avid reader and a soccer fan. While I have less time for it now, I also enjoy playing the piano.
