ExperienceI am an ordained minister with over 12 years experience of public speaking in a variety of venues -- weekly sermons, press conferences, prison worship services -- as well as newspaper articles and interviews.
Over 8 years experience tutoring others in writing. At universities, I've helped students with successful graduate school applications and a post-doc with his first publication (in psychology). I've helped ESL students write solid university essays in English, as well as middle-aged native English speakers writing their first college essays in twenty or more years.
I was previously employed in technical editing, and I studied (with a high B average) engineering at Cornell University for nearly two years before transferring. I am prepared to help engineers and scientists make their ideas more clear to others.
While I am tutoring mainly in writing, I am also available to tutor students in religion (variety of subjects), ritual, and counseling.
I have tutored writing at Cornell (Ithaca, NY), in Washington DC, in Providence RI, and at The University of California and The Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA.
With children and youth... I have often enjoyed working with young people as a minister. I could tutor a variety of subjects, in particular English and Math, but also Social Studies and more.
HobbiesBeing a husband and daddy for our wonderful seven-year old son, taking up skiing again as my son learns, playing games and reading with him, jogging, hiking, working out, playing with our dog.
