Hobbies
I am a friendly and easygoing tutor who values all types of learning, curiosity, and creativity. I received a 4.0 GPA during my time as a Doctoral Student in Political Science at the University of Oregon and have scored impressively on AP high school exams, the SAT, and GRE. My education related work experience includes teaching intro level college courses at the UO, peer tutoring at WU, consulting with students for The Writing Center at WU, and proofreading manuscripts for a professor. Other experience includes leading children's nature tours for Nearby Nature, working as a Congressional Page for the US House of Representatives, and working as a bookseller at Powell's. In my spare time I enjoy playing/watching sports, hiking, reading, and cooking. I recently decided that the Political Science Doctoral Program at the UO wasn't for me and have since embarked on a yearlong Geographical Information Systems Certificate Program at LCC. I am looking for part-time or as-needed tutoring work and would be a great fit for older elementary, middle school, high school, or college age students. I specialize in tutoring for writing, history, verbal reasoning, and political science/gov.
